Multiple Individual Arrays MIA

The MIA process stands for

unexpected freedom in

design of experiments.

MIA SNP Analyses

Array-On is the only company that is able to analyse numerous individuals at SNPs in the same genes simultaneously on a single DNA chip. The novel method is called “MIA” which stands for Multiple Individual Arrays and permits up to 20.000 allele calls in one miniaturised reaction chamber over the microarray.

MALDI ToF MS versus MIA SNP Chips
  • SNPs in 4 different genes (MMP1, IL4, IL18, MICA)
  • All genes involved in rheumatoid arthritis
  • over-all concordance 98.33%
  • Range Between 96 and 100%

Concordance rates
  1. IL4: Hairpin Structure at SNP Detection Probe    (96%)
  2. IL18: SNP Detection from Up- and Downstream Sequences   (99%)
  3. MICA: Results with Zero Mendel Errors   (100%)
(no results with MALDI ToF MS
    related  MICB Sequence very Similar)
